5.6 Commercial Facility Management (KGM)

Commercial Facility Management combines services in three areas that are of central importance for the operation and management of the university properties. With the aim of achieving a high degree of space efficiency, it ensures the spatial accommodation of all university facilities and the energy supply of all buildings, as well as managing all rental and lease relationships of Ruhr University Bochum. In addition, the Construction and Facility Management division ensures that construction, service and supply contracts are tendered and procured in accordance with public procurement law and that finance and accounting are carried out properly.

Space and Room Management serves as a communication interface between various contact persons and landlords and is responsible for concluding, managing and terminating the various rental agreements.

General Administration in the Department of Construction and Facility Management is responsible for finance and accounting as well as cost and performance accounting and records all of the department's business transactions.
