Medicine Finance, Accounting and Taxes

The division is responsible for all financial and tax matters of the medical facilities (the campus divisions and the divisions of the university hospitals) of the Ruhr University Bochum.

The division manages state funds for the Faculty of Medicine and the university hospitals ("Bochum model") as well as economic funds, third-party funds subject to income and sales tax.

It also supports the bodies and committees of the Faculty of Medicine and, in particular, acts as an interface to the university divisions and finance divisions in the university hospitals.

Core tasks

  • Allocation of household budgets (state allocation for medicine)
  • Reporting (annual financial statements, quarterly reports, etc.)
  • Budget, income and VAT law advice on the use of budgets/funds
  • Reviewing project applications (third-party funds) with regard to compliance with income tax, VAT and state aid regulations (guidelines, laws, etc.) and managing these project applications
