Outdoor Sports Facility and Temporary Parking Lot

This project involved the construction of a new outdoor sports facility for the Faculty of Sports Science at Health Campus North 10.

Ruhr University Bochum was the direct client for this new sports facility for the Faculty of Sports Science 'Am Gesundheitscampus-Nord 10'.

Tasks of the project management

As the client, Department 5.II.2 Construction Management also provided project management services and was responsible for the success of the project. This included all project-related determinations regarding qualities, costs, deadlines and contracts, the preparation and implementation of project meetings and committee meetings, ensuring sufficient communication between all project participants, the coordination of service content taking into account user and operator interests and the declaration of approvals and acceptances.

Stakeholders

There were many stakeholders, such as the building regulations office, the fire department, occupational safety and operating technology at Ruhr University Bochum, the staff council, the representative body for the severely disabled, the user group, the planner and the contractors, who were integrated into the project by the project management right at the start of construction. In particular, the cooperation of the construction management and operating technology departments as operators of Ruhr University Bochum was essential in order to meet the technical requirements of the university. The general planner was responsible for the professional and technically sound implementation of the project and completed service phases 1-9 in accordance with HOAI.
