Periodic Inspections (WKP)
To ensure that students, employees, researchers and visitors can study and conduct research safely, there are numerous regulations and guidelines that require Ruhr University Bochum's numerous technical facilities to be regularly maintained and inspected.
Core tasks
We are responsible for recurring inspections of technical systems by experts and for invitations to tender.
This means that we...
- implement the NRW Inspection Ordinance (PrüfVO) and the Operational Safety Ordinance (BetrSichV)
- coordinate the rectification of inspection defects
- are responsible for all recurring inspections by experts on approx. 60,000 technical systems throughout Ruhr University Bochum
- are responsible for the testing of "stationary" and "portable" electrical equipment in all premises of Ruhr University Bochum and by experts
- Issue invitations to tender for tests
- plan and coordinate the testing of over 40 trades
- support the building inspectorate and the Bochum fire department
- manage the inspections and master data in the CAFM system
- answer all inquiries relating to inspections and inspection reports
