Students@NHB

Students@NHB is a central component of the Sustainability Office. This dedicated group of students, supported by the full-time employees of the Sustainability Office, implements campaigns on campus, raises awareness of sustainable development and develops projects so that the university administration can implement them quickly.

Students@NHB has been active since 2020 and is the nucleus of today's Sustainability and Energy Department. The idea is based on the Green Office concept, which was awarded the UNESCO Prize for Education for Sustainable Development.

Core Tasks

Planning, implementation and support of actions and projects for sustainable development
Developing project proposals and presenting examples of best practice within Ruhr University Bochum
Raising awareness of the topic of sustainability and Ruhr University Bochum's sustainability activities
Networking with sustainability stakeholders on campus
Acceptance of concerns and simple advice

Our aim is to make the topic of sustainability visible in all its dimensions on campus and to jointly shape the path to a more sustainable Ruhr University Bochum. We want to motivate all members of the university to actively engage in sustainability and to discuss this topic. In this way, we can benefit from many different perspectives and learn from each other, because we can only achieve sustainable change together!
