The core task of university sports is the organization and implementation of a wide range of high-quality and regular sports activities for students and employees of Bochum's universities.
University Sports is also responsible for ensuring that Ruhr University Bochum (RUB), as a “partner university of top-class sport”, enables the around 50 top-class student athletes to combine their studies with top-class sport. In addition to the sports program, events underline performance, intensify networks and create identification. Together with other stakeholders, university sports plays an important role in promoting the health of all university members.
