The faculties may submit proposals that fall within the remit of the committee. Applications must be submitted in writing to the Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Günther Meschke at least 2 weeks before a meeting date. Depending on the fullness of the agenda, the Vice-Rector decides on the time of the meeting.

Commission for Research and Knowledge Transfer
In accordance with Art. 12 Para. 2 of the Constitution of Ruhr University Bochum, the Senate, in agreement with the Rectorate, determines the scope of responsibilities of the Commission for Research and Knowledge Transfer in the Senate's rules of procedure immediately after the election of a new Rectorate.
Dates
The meetings of the Commission for Research and Knowledge Transfer usually take place twice per semester by prior arrangement and are not open to the public.

The members are elected and dismissed by the Senate separately for each group. Their term of office is three years, that of the student members one year. The chair is held by the Vice-Rector responsible for the area of responsibility (without voting rights).
