The faculties can submit proposals that fall within the remit of the committee. Applications must be submitted to Ms. Sophie Halley (via the commission's advisor, Alexandra.Wassermann@rub.de) at least two weeks before a meeting date. Depending on the fullness of the agenda, the chairperson decides on the time of the meeting.

The Equal Opportunities Commission advises and supports the university and the Equal Opportunities Officer in all areas of gender equality.

Members of the Equal Opportunities Commission
The Commission has equal representation of gender and status groups. The members of the Equal Opportunities Commission are elected by the Senate. Their term of office is three years, and one year for the student representatives. The chairperson of the commission is elected by the members. The Equal Opportunities Officer and her deputies are advisory members of the commission.
