The Kim is here campaign is an offer for all people on the RUB campus who find themselves in unpleasant or cross-border situations and need support to leave this situation. In such cases, the employees of the participating locations on campus are available to help you quickly and discreetly.
Go to the (information) desk of the nearest participating location and ask:

The question "Is Kim here?" is a code that the person seeking help can use to contact the employees at the participating locations. This lets staff know that help is needed without having to specify what has happened.
The Kim ist hier campaign is implemented by the Anti-Discrimination Office and the project Unser Campus - Gemeinsam gegen Sexismus an der RUB in cooperation with the AKAFÖ, the University Library and other participating locations.
The campaign aims to sensitize the university community to respectful coexistence, strengthen the feeling of safety on campus and supplement existing services such as the escort service and advice centres.

If you need to make an emergency call on campus, be sure to call the RUB control room (Leitwarte):
Depending on the type of emergency, the control room will inform the fire department or the police and, if necessary, forward you to them. The control room is available 24/7. You can also make emergency calls using the alarm buttons in the elevators.
If you want to make an emergency call from RUB buildings outside the campus, call the fire and rescue service: 112 or the police: 110. If possible, also inform the RUB control room about the emergency afterwards.

Ruhr-Universität Bochum has its own anti-discrimination policy, which formulates the rights and obligations of all university members and campus guests.
