Talent scouting

At the heart of talent promotion is the talent scouting program, which aims to give every young person the same opportunities for self-determined life planning, for example through an academic career.

In cooperation with Bochum University of Applied Sciences, talent scouts from Ruhr-Universität Bochum visit vocational colleges, comprehensive schools and grammar schools in Bochum and the Ennepe-Ruhr district to provide students with personal support on site. With the help of individual support measures and long-term advice, they accompany the young people on their way from school through university to a career. Advice for talented young people is supplemented by other talent development modules:

• Talent meetings: Fall academy for talents
• TalenteNetzwerkTreffen: student network with its own event and support formats by talents for talents

TalentKolleg Ruhr in Hagen

The TalentKollegRuhr in Hagen is a further component of talent promotion at Ruhr-Universität Bochum. It is a joint project of the Ministry of Schools and Education, the city of Hagen and Ruhr-Universität Bochum. Pupils from the end of secondary school are supported in their study and career orientation with qualification courses, workshops and information events to prepare them for the start of their studies or training. Talented students have permanent contact points here. The Talentkolleg Ruhr is currently located in Herne and Gelsenkirchen.
