Are you looking to actively engage with your target group and would like to represent your faculty, your RUB institution or a special project on social networks? We are happy to support your first steps, help you pick the right channel, put your social media presence on a solid footing and develop a long-term strategy.
If you’re already active on social media, we’ll be happy to provide advice and support, too.
Our social media guidelines help you manage social networks. This is where you’ll find tips, rules and legal regulations that you must observe if you want to be active in social networks as an institution or as a member of Ruhr University Bochum.
When posting on social media, the RUB’s corporate design must be applied for all academic and non-academic institutions:
A photo of the RUB label can be used for profile pictures, just as it is used for the RUB’s central social media accounts. Please contact us by email at socialmedia@ruhr-uni-bochum.de. We’ll send you the relevant profile picture.
You are free to choose your cover image. The Agency for Brand Communication offers six cover images as a service (see below: “Download high-resolution images”).
The RUB’s social media team posts the most important campus news on the RUB’s Facebook page. Each day, we talk about degree courses, student life between GD and ID, upcoming events, beautiful places and the RUB’s unique flair.
On Twitter, we tweet about major achievements and other highlights in research, study and university politics at RUB.
Sunrise over campus, a clip taken at the summer festival or a curious find in a lecture hall: On Instagram, we present the diverse activities at RUB in stunning pictures and videos.
Our YouTube channel features image films and videos about campus life.
Starting up and working at RUB: On the career network LinkedIn, we provide information, services and insights into how RUB transfers its knowledge and skills into the business and working world and why this makes us an attractive entrepreneurial location and employer.
Whether it's an international symposium, a semester concert or Diversity Day – an event needs to be publicized so that people attend it. For this purpose, RUB offers the Instagram account @RuhrUniEvents. Only selected event announcements are posted on this channel.
All Ruhr University institutions can submit their events via an online form.
On all RUB channelsin social media, we ask for respectful interaction and compliance with some common and legal rules. They can be found in the netiquette.
The RUB’s social media team
The RUB’s social media team can be identified by their initials on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and Youtube: Sabrina Kircher (sk) and Tabea Bouchemit (tbt). They are supported by the other members of the editorial team.
