The faculties may submit proposals that fall within the remit of the committee. Applications must be submitted in writing to the Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Isolde Karle at least two weeks before a meeting date. Depending on the fullness of the agenda, the Vice-Rector decides on the time of the meeting.

Commission for Diversity
The scope of duties of the Diversity Commission is determined by the Senate in agreement with the Rectorate in the Senate's rules of procedure in accordance with Art. 12 Para. 2 of the Constitution of Ruhr University Bochum.
Meeting Dates
The meetings of the Diversity Commission usually take place 2 to 3 times per semester by prior arrangement and are not open to the public.

The members are elected and dismissed by the Senate separately for each group. Their term of office is three years, that of the student members one year. The committee is chaired by the Vice-Rector responsible for the area of responsibility (without voting rights).
