Department 1 University Development and Strategy
The division advises and accompanies the development of study programs, assumes coordinating and operational tasks in quality management and operates the RUB's Information Management System (IMS).
Division 1 supports and advises in coordination with the other departments of the department as well as other university institutions in the entire process of conception, establishment and quality assurance of study programs. The service is intended as a contribution to integrated program development. This means that curriculum development, examination regulations, accreditation and reaccreditation or capacity calculation are always considered together. In addition, the department's team also advises on possible funding programs in the area of teaching.
A team from the Division, together with IT.SERVICES, operates and continuously develops the RUB Information Management System (IMS). In the IMS, data from various central basic systems as well as from external statistics are combined in a central system in order to make them available for reporting, analysis and planning. The department thus provides data for central and decentralized decision-makers at RUB, but also for the external presentation of RUB in publications and rankings. The team is the contact for all internal as well as external data requests, provides official statistics, advises on them and, as a central office, maintains a wide variety of master data (e.g. the official organizational structure and degree program list of the RUB).
The division coordinates the teaching report, which takes place every three years and is designed as a data-based and dialog-oriented quality development process. In it, our study programs are considered on the basis of data from university statistics, ECTS monitoring and student surveys. In addition, the central service for student course evaluation with EvaSys is coordinated in Department 1. In the meantime, countless surveys take place at universities, the team coordinates the field phases to minimize duplication and field competition, and advises faculties and Central scientific units on their own surveys.
