Terms of use RUB mobile app

1. General information (brief description of the service)

The campus app "RUB mobile" provides various services of Ruhr-Universität Bochum and the AKAFÖ Bochum via a central application. There are also links to websites from other providers.

Specifically, these are currently:

  • Links to service pages of the Ruhr-Universität Bochum
  • Links to service pages of the Bogestra
  • Links to ASTA service pages
  • Links to pages of the campus radio station "c.t. - das Radio"
  • Meal plans (AKAFÖ Bochum)

2. Access, users, authorizations

The campus app "RUB mobile" is available for free download in the Google Playstore and the Apple AppStore. Use is currently possible for anyone without registration.

Some links refer to RUB web pages for which authentication is required. However, these pages are located outside the RUB Mobile App.

3. Obligations of the users

Users undertake to respect the copyright of the data displayed (e.g. images) and not to infringe it through unauthorized distribution. Furthermore, users undertake to refrain from attacks on the system (e.g. denial-of-service attacks).

The campus app "RUB mobile" is an official mobile application software of Ruhr-Universität Bochum. Users undertake to protect their access from unauthorized persons. Ruhr-Universität Bochum would like to point out that passwords must not be passed on. Users are liable for any unauthorized use of their accounts made possible by their conduct, insofar as they are at fault.

4. Disclaimer

Use of the app is at your own risk. Ruhr-Universität Bochum is not liable for the accuracy and completeness of the data provided or for any disadvantages users may suffer as a result of incorrect information.

5. Service agreement, warranty, liability

Publicly available information is compiled from the respective sources of Ruhr-Universität Bochum and presented to users in an interface. Non-public information is only available to users after signing and with appropriate authorization.

The aim is to make the application software available 24/7. In the event of faults in the technical equipment, efforts will be made to rectify these within the existing technical and operational possibilities. The organization operating the servers shall not be liable for technical faults.

The app can be discontinued temporarily or permanently at any time. Ruhr-Universität Bochum does not guarantee the availability of the service.

As part of this privacy policy, users receive the necessary information on how and to what extent and for what purpose Ruhr-Universität Bochum uses personal data.

8. Final provisions

Ruhr-Universität Bochum is entitled to adapt these terms of use if this is necessary due to further development of the platform, legal changes or in the event of an adaptation of the functionality offered. By downloading the app, users confirm that they have read these terms of use and accept them in their entirety.
