5.5 Maintenance Machine Technology (IH-MT)
The division maintains the technical systems in all buildings at Ruhr University Bochum. In particular, it is responsible for the maintenance of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, concludes maintenance contracts and supports repair, new construction and conversion measures from planning to invoice processing. In addition, it develops new energy-saving concepts and measures and promotes the conversion of the facilities to renewable energies.
Subject Areas
Mechanical engineering is made up of various areas. A distinction is made here between the individual cross-building areas of technical administration, sanitary and extinguishing water technology, refrigeration technology and heat supply (primary side). There is also ventilation technology and technical building services. The latter deals with maintenance in the individual rows of buildings. This is where the smooth operation of the mechanical systems is ensured.
