University Election Assembly
The University Electoral Assembly is convened to elect and remove members of the Rectorate. The meetings of the University Election Assembly are open to the members and affiliates of the university, subject to availability.
Date for the Election of a new Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs
The university election meeting will take place on Thursday, 23 April 2026, at 1.30 pm in the Event Center of Ruhr University Bochum, Room 2a. The public part of the event is open to all members and affiliates of Ruhr University Bochum, subject to availability.
Duties of the University Election Assembly
The only duty of the University Election Assembly is the election and recall of members of the Rectorate. The assembly is called solely for this purpose. It thus decides on one of the most essential issues at a university. The committee consists of all members of the Senate and the University Council. Senate members with voting rights and all members of the University Council are eligible to vote. The Senate members with voting rights and the members of the University Council have the same number of votes; accordingly, there is an equality of votes between Senate and University Council members in the University Election Assembly, regardless of the number of members on each side.
