We initiate, shape and coordinate the (digital) transformation of Ruhr University Bochum.
As an interdisciplinary team, we bring in expertise from the fields of change management, process management, communication as well as project management and network the stakeholders at Ruhr University Bochum. In this way, we offer sustainable solutions for the tasks of digital change - always based on the overarching strategic goals.
In close cooperation with the specialist managers and organizational units, the Digital Office works both in an advisory and operational capacity on the implementation of specific projects. The Digital Office deals with the following topics, among others:
Numerous tasks at Ruhr University Bochum are organized and carried out in projects. The Digital Office offers a project management office for digitalization projects in the "Digital RUB" programme. All employees can benefit from the support offered in the Serviceportal with regard to classic and agile project management - even if they are not involved in a digitalization project.
Process management uses models to make existing business processes transparent, analyze them and identify potential for optimization. The aim is to increase effectiveness and efficiency on the one hand and to promote employee satisfaction on the other.
Organizational development at Ruhr University Bochum stands for targeted, temporary change projects aimed at cultural change. Together with the Department of University Development and Strategy, the Digital Office works with the various units to develop structures and processes for new forms of collaboration, communication and decision-making.
The change management team advises and supports the design of change projects and accompanies the employees and teams of Ruhr University Bochum
The team manages the renewal of campus management, i.e. the administrative and organizational processes for studying. To this end, a new, integrated campus management system is being introduced to support students, teaching staff and administrative employees.
The team is responsible for introducing a digital document management system at Ruhr University Bochum to enable location-independent access to the very different types of files.
It is directly linked to process workflows in the specialist procedures, such as campus management and easy shopping. Sub-projects include the introduction of an eStudent file and a subject file plan.
The team is responsible for the conception, design and implementation of administrative forms, with a particular focus on accessibility and bilingualism (German/English). It also oversees the introduction and use of electronic signatures, including RUBSign and qualified electronic signatures.
The Serviceportal offers Ruhr University Bochum's employees access to all information and services relevant to them. The team is responsible for creating, updating and designing the content in the Serviceportal, keeps all employees informed and is thus a central instrument of internal communication at Ruhr University Bochum (currently, only select areas are available in English).
The Digital Office team provides support in traditional lecturing activities for the Chancellor or members of the Rectorate on a variety of cross-cutting topics. These include, among others
