Digital Office

The Digital Office is established in September 2022 with the task of supporting the Rectorate of Ruhr University Bochum – in particular the Chancellor – in the implementation of the strategic goals for digitalization at Ruhr University Bochum.

Our responsibility is to ...

  • to promote the digital transformation at Ruhr University Bochum,
  • to establish networks between the various actors,
  • make activities transparent and accessible to all, and
  • to support the employees.

Coordinate Digitalization Plans and Projects

Based on Ruhr University Bochum's digitalization strategy, the various projects in the administration are combined and coordinated in the “Digitale RUB” program.

In the future, digitalization projects outside the administration will also be supported.

Provide Project Management and Change Tools

The establishment of an integrated project management system with possible change support for digitalization projects at Ruhr University Bochum is one of the areas of responsibility. Tools for the implementation of projects will be made available for this purpose. In addition, information and networking events are offered for all employees.

Support Employees in Digital Transformation

Globalization and digitalization have created a new world of work (New Work), which has been accelerated by a variety of crises. This change to a new world of work also needs to be shaped and driven forward at Ruhr University Bochum.

In cooperation with the Administrative Departments of Organizational and Professional Development and Corporate Communications, a number of formats are offered to support and accompany employees in the digital transformation.
