Information on Applying for Election Campaign Stands for the Student Parliament

As an electoral list of the student parliament of Ruhr University Bochum, you have the opportunity to apply for campaign stands for the election week from November 25 to 29 on campus.

Please use the following collective application form to apply for campaign stands:

Send the completed application to eventgenehmigung@rub.de by November 11, 2024 at the latest.

Locations

The following locations are available for setting up campaign stands:

If other stand areas are to be approved, please submit your application by November 4, 2024.

After the submission deadline, the stand spaces will be distributed evenly among the electoral lists, for example by using rotation systems or alternative spaces.

The applicant will receive notification of approval no later than the week before the election.

Regulations

Please note the regulations that apply during the election campaign week.

Regulations for the Election Campaign Week

  • The general event regulations must be complied with, unless expressly stipulated otherwise.
  • The required minimum distances to the ballot boxes must be observed. The electoral bodies may take measures in accordance with the election regulations to ensure the proper conduct of the elections.
  • The approved stand area must be adhered to.
  • The areas used must be left as they were found. The outdoor facilities must also be checked for soiling (bottles etc.); these must be removed. Costs for any special cleaning and the removal of any damage caused will be reported to the registered person responsible, who must ensure that the costs are paid. Special cleaning is required if the premises can no longer be cleaned as part of the contractual services of the contracted company.
  • Doors and stairs must be kept clear.
  • Fire extinguishers, garbage cans, first aid boxes and similar items must be kept clear.
  • Chairs, tables etc. must be returned to their original place after the event.
  • Escape routes and emergency exits must be kept clear.
  • Escape routes with a clear width of 1.50 meters must be kept clear and monitored.
  • Smoking is prohibited in the entire indoor area.
  • Tables etc. or decorations must have the rating "flame retardant B1".
  • Electrical equipment of any kind that is used must be tested in accordance with DGUV Regulation 3. They must be adequately supervised during operation. Other necessary approvals/inspections must be obtained independently.
  • Electrical appliances for cooking or open flames are prohibited. With electrical appliances such as waffle irons, care must be taken to ensure that no smoke is produced and that no smoke alarms are triggered.
  • Foils, posters etc. may not be affixed to light fixtures, walls or ceilings.
  • The RUBfire safety regulations must be observed.
  • No electricity may be used in the GD building.
  • Posters may only be put up in the designated RUBposter areas. More detailed information can be found on the page Posting and billposting areas.
  • Posters may be displayed on lampposts on campus for 14 days before and during the election week. Each list may only put up one poster per lamppost. After the election week, the lists have 7 days to remove them. Posters that have not been removed by the end of the 7-day period will be taken down and disposed of by Infrastructural Facility Management. If necessary, this will be charged to the lists.
  • Flyers that have been handed out and carelessly discarded must be disposed of properly by the respective list. If this is not done, Infrastructural Facility Management will charge the respective list for cleaning.
  • Flyers may only be distributed at public seating areas in the buildings and must be removed daily at the end of the election campaigns. If flyers are distributed elsewhere, they will be removed and disposed of.
