Graduate Study

The RUB Graduate Study has been conducted annually since the winter semester 2008/2009. It is part of a Cooperation Project (KOAB) in which over 80 universities participate.

All graduates who completed their studies at RUB one to two years ago are surveyed. In addition to the retrospective assessment of the study programs and conditions and the presentation of the course of studies, the results of the survey provide information about the transition to further studies or the job market.

After four to five years, graduates are surveyed again by the Institute for Applied Statistics (istat ). The second survey (panel) offers the opportunity to find out more about graduates' professional careers after they have completed their studies several years ago. The data from both surveys can be combined so that changes in the course of studies and career can be tracked.

Graduate Study and then...?

RUB wants to provide its students with a flexible range of courses that optimally supports everyone on their individual path. To this end, feedback on the courses offered at RUB and on professional life is particularly useful for the faculties and institutions. The feedback is also helpful for the design of new degree programs.

The data from the Graduate Study is also integrated into the data report for the teaching report. As part of the teaching report, the results are interpreted together with other data and subsequently lead to perspective agreements between faculties or central academic institutions and the Rectorate. The achievement of objectives is reviewed as part of the monitoring of the university development plan.

In order to take specific evaluation interests into account, additional results from the Graduate Study can be compiled on request.

The Graduate Study Cooperation Project

Every year, around 60,000 graduates from around 80 universities are surveyed as part of the Graduate Study Cooperation Project (KOAB). In this way, the survey results of individual subjects can be compared with a suitable benchmark, which enables targeted quality management.
